YAYS apartments.
what is included in a YAYS serviced apartment?
We offer serviced apartments with a fully equipped kitchen, home appliances, bedding & towels and free Wifi. Compared to an average hotel room, you will have more space and privacy while still getting 24/7 access to the assistance of a YAYS Insider.
do you provide daily cleaning service?
To leave you the freedom to manage your space as you please, we do not provide daily cleaning service in your apartment. A complimentary cleaning is offered when you stay more than 7 nights. Unlike your usual hotel experience, a stay at YAYS feels like having your own place in town. So you won’t need to put up a ‘do not disturb’ sign to keep our cleaning staff out. If you wish to have your apartment cleaned outside of the weekly cleaning, you can request an extra cleaning at any time. The cleaning will be arranged based on availability, for an extra cleaning fee.
how often do you provide a change of linen and towels?
We care about the environment, so our default is to change linen and towels only once a week during the weekly cleaning. An extra set of towels or bedsheets can be provided for an extra fee whenever you need that little extra freshness.
is a final cleaning charged separately?
We don’t have any hidden costs. The final cleaning of your apartment is included in the price of your stay. We only ask you to leave your apartment tidy as you would do at home and to run a dishwasher programme with any dirty dishes before you leave. Our housekeeping staff will take care of the rest.
are heating costs included?
Yes. Your apartment is equipped with an independent heating system so you can regulate the temperature in your apartment for optimal comfort for no extra cost. Please be mindful of the environment and don’t let the heating system run unnecessary.
how long can I stay with YAYS? A night, week, months?
Your YAYS apartment is your ideal base in the city, whether for a few nights or a few months. The best rates are automatically applied when you book direct on yays.com.

is Wifi available?
High speed WiFi is available in all our apartments, free of charge.
do I have a fully equipped kitchen?
Yes! Every YAYS apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. There’s all you need for comfortable (local) living and a pleasant stay. Let’s cook!
do I need to pack a hairdryer?
Save the space in your luggage for souvenirs! Hairdryers are available in every apartment, free of charge.
can I iron my clothes?
Yes! You will find an iron and ironing board in all our apartments. Could the home feeling be any more real?
are toiletries provided?
Shampoo and shower gel are provided, as well as (two) rolls of toilet paper.
do you provide a baby cot and high chair?
We love travelling families! A baby cot and high chair package can be requested for children aged 2 years or younger. This is a special request that needs to be placed with our Guest Service Team. It is subject to availability and extra charges apply.
Please note: A baby cot and high chair cannot be arranged at Amsterdam The Crane by YAYS, due to location-specific age restrictions. Only guests from 12 years or older are allowed here for safety reasons.
can I request an extra bed?
If you book an apartment with a sofa bed, you will find an extra set of bedding for you to use as an extra bed. Additional beds cannot be added.
do you provide breakfast?
Your YAYS apartment is self-catered. This means that we provide a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare your favourite breakfast with local ingredients. If you feel like treating yourself, ask your YAYS Insider or check your YAYS Neighbourhood Guide for the best breakfast and brunch places in the neighbourhood.
are drinks provided?
YAYS is a great base to explore all the special places in the neighbourhood where you can enjoy local drinks. In your apartment you will find coffee, tea, sugar.
can you help me rent a bike?
If you are a bicycle lover staying at YAYS in the Netherlands, we’ve got good news for you! Your YAYS Insider can fix you up with a stylish YAYS bike. Ask them how to hire one for the day for a convenient price.
what else is provided?
Your apartment includes enough coffee, tea, cleaning tools, dishwasher soap and laundry soap for a short stay.

how old do I have to be to book an apartment with YAYS?
The minimum age requirement to book an apartment is 18 year old.
can I bring my pet with me?
Our general policy is to not allow pets in our properties. Depending on location and availability, however, exceptions might be possible. We invite you to place a special request with our Guest Service Team to check if we can indeed accommodate your non-human friend, before you complete your booking. Extra fees may apply to pet stays.
how many people can stay in my apartment?
The number of people allowed in your apartment is indicated in the apartment information at the time of booking. For your own safety and that of others, local regulations and company policies do not allow a larger number of people to stay in any given apartment. Some apartments can only be booked for 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 years or younger. It is not possible to place extra beds in the apartments, with the exception of a baby cot for a child aged 2 years or younger.
are children allowed at every property?
YAYS is a family-friendly place and children are welcome at every location. For safety reasons however, Amsterdam The Crane by YAYS can only accommodate guests aged 12 years or older.
do you offer different rates for adults and children?
Prices on our website are displayed per apartment, regardless of how many people are staying or their age, and provided that the main booker is an adult. Please note that guests exceeding the maximum occupancy indicated at the time of booking will not be allowed in the apartment.
is smoking allowed?
Smoking is forbidden in any apartment. Please exit the building if you want to smoke. Do not throw cigarettes on the ground.

when do I pay for my stay?
You will be asked to pay for your stay in advance. You will receive a secured payment link, from our partner MEWS, via email to complete the payment.
Please note: if a payment is not processed within terms, your booking will not be confirmed.
how can I pay?
To keep things as simple and safe as possible, we do not accept cash payments.
When booking from outside the Eurozone, this also saves you the hassle of changing foreign currencies. You can pay for your stay with any major credit card or direct payment system: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners, Apple pay, Google pay, Samsung pay, JCB, Maestro, Discover and iDeal.

how can I request an invoice for my payment?
You can request your invoice upon check-out. Please make sure you have all the invoicing details needed at hand.

how do I check-in for a YAYS place?
YAYS Aparthotels.
A few days prior to your arrival you’ll receive an email invitation to check-in online via our MEWS platform. Simply follow these steps to skip the adminstrative hassle upon arrival and save time to explore the neighbourhood.
Our YAYS insiders will welcome you upon arrival in our homebase. Of course you’re more than welcome to arrange the full check-in upon arrival as well.
Please note you need to have a valid credit card to check-in (online).
how do I check-in for a by YAYS place?
by YAYS Serviced apartments.
Our by YAYS places have keyless access and self check-in available 24/7, 365 days of the year.
Within 1-week prior to your arrival date you will receive an email to access the online check-in & ID-verification process. Simply follow the steps for a successful check-in and settle all payments online prior arrival. This ensures a smooth entry.
After a succesful check-in & ID-verification process we will send the keyless entry access details on the day of your arrival. Self check-in is available any time after check-in time.
We do not have luggage storage possibilities in the buildings.

what time is check-in?
Amsterdam, The Hague & Antwerp
Standard check-in time is from 3pm for all places in Amsterdam, The Hague and Antwerp.
Paris
Standard check-in time is from 3pm for all places in Paris.
All YAYS places have YAYS insiders on-site 24/7, so you can arrive at any time after this.
All by YAYS places have keyless access and self check-in available 24/7, 365 days of the year. Self check-in is available any time after check-in time as stated above.
what time is check-out?
Our standard check-out time is 11am at all our places.
We offer a contactless check-out service, so feel free to leave at any time before that.
can I store my luggage before arrival or after departure?
YAYS Aparthotels.
Yes, we have luggage storage available at all YAYS places. You may use it both before and after your stay with us.
by YAYS Serviced apartments.
No. We do not have luggage storage possibilities at all by YAYS places.

COVID-19.
can I cancel or amend a booking due to travel restrictions?
We offer different cancellation policies. If you are not sure you are going to be able to travel, we recommend you book your apartment stay under a flexible rate. This will allow you to cancel or amend your reservation free of charge until 72 hours prior to your arrival date (after that term lapses, your booking will no longer be refundable).
If you prefer to be able to cancel or amend your booking last-minute, you can book under a semi flexible rate: in this case, when cancelling your stay you will only be charged for the cost of the first night.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to grant any refund for bookings cancelled or amended under a non-refundable policy.
am I able to stay at YAYS?

do I need to wear a face mask?
Our safety policies are in line with the local regulations on COVID-19 safety, which may include the requirement to wear a face mask covering nose, mouth and chin while in indoor communal areas. Where this is the case, you will be informed with a sign in the areas where a face mask is required.
