On Monday April 24, YAYS and Ter Steege Bouw Vastgoed signed a letter of intent for a YAYS extended stay aparthotel in Amsterdam-Noord. The new location of YAYS, located on the IJ, will consist of 106 apartments that will be rented out with a minimum stay of 7 nights. The construction will start in the summer of 2024.
The letter of intent was signed in Amsterdam by Zachary Schwartz (CEO of YAYS Group B.V) and Andries Tolman (Commercial Director of Ter Steege Bouw Vastgoed Apeldoorn BV). ‘’We’re excited to be working with an impressive family business like Ter Steege. Based on our shared values, I’m confident our companies will be able to realize a sustainable, forward-looking and neighbourhood-oriented serviced apartment project at this top location in Amsterdam North.’’ says Zachary.
Sustainable apartments overlooking the IJ
YAYS is already known as an early adapter with the opening of North by YAYS, a short stay concept, in 2016. Amsterdam North, a vibrant residential area set away from the traditional city centre but with excellent access, is becoming more and more the place to be in Amsterdam. That is the reason for both parties to choose for this upcoming neighbourhood. From next summer on, the project will be built on the northern bank of the IJ, with 106 serviced apartments, small retail or F&B space on the ground floor and private (bicycle) parking spaces. The project will be entirely BREEAM developed so that it meets the highest standards of sustainability. All designed with the signature YAYS experience: furnished, and equipped to the highest standards of design and comfort. The opening is planned for the second half of 2026.
